Thanks @ioagoa, I'll have a look. And I'll likely send you the full 1200dpi as well, sometime tomorrow.

This one is a little trickier because the top frame line has been cut off.

Feature that I see:

- Plate 4 is most likely due to thin left frame line
- Relief B
- no inner lines
- guide dot at lower right snuggled into the corner where the frame lines meet

I'm going with Scott #11 position 46R4. There is one other position that is similar, 66R4, but I ruled that out because the guide dot isn't in quite the same position (it straddles the right frame line more).

This one looks like #11A position 30L1L.

Features:
- Relief B
- Two inner frame lines
- 1 recut in upper left triangle
- small gap and overlap at top right corner
- Position ends in a 0, i.e. the right most stamp on either left or right side of plate
- Not in the first row because has adjacent stamp above

The stamp is also consistent with the description that the right outside frame line is more faint than all of the other frame lines.

Here's what is likely a left column from the right pane. Gonna go sit in a corner if I am wrong about this. My understanding is that the left and right panes are separated by a line of color, but there are no lines of color on the outside edges of the sheets.

Features:
- Relief A
- Two inner lines

Even though I can narrow it down to 30 positions (column 1 of the right pane), having the whole top missing, including the very top of the diamond blocks and label makes this a bit more difficult.

I'm going with 31R2L. A close candidate is 51R5L. I say this because the right outside frame line pinches in more on the 31R2L and that is a much better match. Also, the top part of the right outside frame line on my stamp is quite heavy as in the 31R2L. The whole right frame is just more consistent with the 31R2L. The other characteristic is the right inside frame line. It goes up higher on 51R5L than on my stamp.

I just wonder if i'm on the good path. Am I right this stamp is from one of these three positions: 32R2L, 71R2L, and 80R2L?

@Captain Stamp,

It's not 32R2L because of spacing between outside frame line and lower left rosette.

Pretty sure it's not 71R2L because of spacing between lower left diamond block and the bottom label. The gap on your stamp is noticeably wider than in the Chase image.

I cannot rule out 80R2L, but I am not confirming that is the position.

Thanks, NicholasC! The bottom frame line on 80R2L looks too strong to confirm mine is from the same position, right? Or it's not necessary a criteria to rule out this position?

Don't know. What I meant was that not only can I not rule it out, I also cannot tell if it is correct. I would have to look at it more in depth and even then it would just be my opinion. You have another difficult stamp here because it has no special features that I can see.

Thanks NicholasC

I enjoy the 1 cent design including #63

But my passion are the #65 and the grilled examples of that design
Its the most remarkable US stamp in my opinion

New stamp. Well, new to me, anyway.

Features:
- Relief B
- No inner lines
- 1 recut in upper left triangle
- guide dot at lower right

Amazingly, the wizard shows only 4 possible positions.

I've decided it is 42R1E which makes this a #10.

Note: Shout out to @ioagoa for convincing me to scan these stamps using photo mode. And for stamps that might be #10 or #10A, I am placing face down on the glass with a black background rather than scanning through a 102 card.

Plated by Ray Vogel at 85-95 R1E. In his exhibition on these he also says that the "Small Boston PAID used July 19, 1851 to January 15, 1852 - Scarce used on one cent 1851 Stamp"

Question for people with more knowledge on grading. Both stamps are easily XF. The top stamp if the bottom was cut off might get 98 or 100. Is it possible to get a grade on it without cutting the bottom stamp in half. (Don't worry, I'm not doing that.)
