I'm sorting through a pile of Postal Cards. My 2016 Scott Specialized shows that many of the Postal Cards post 1960 have a higher CV for used than mint. I don't recall ever seeing used postal cards for sale. I thought the demand, however small, was for mint cards in pristine condition or with a First Day cancel. What obvious thing am I missing? That's an interesting thought I hadn't considered. I have a boatload of "in period" used cards from a commercial mail stream. (appointment reminders, meeting announcements, reply requests, etc.) I guess I have a new sub-collection! Thanks, Dan

Used postal cards are like stamps with a story attached. You get so much information in a little space. Cards I received in the mail in the 70's are priceless to me, though their catalog value may be 25 cents. Cards collected from early twentieth century tell interesting stories with specific dates, places, and subjects. I think used postal cards can be worth much more than mint.
I agree that they are great little items of postal history. What surprised me was higher CV for used cards. Typically CV reflects demand, not the postal history value.
