Laurie, That's a nice #24 for $2. I like the bold, face-free red cancel.

Is there a reference somewhere that documents Scott 25 & 26 plate flaws and abnormalities (other than cracks and scratches)?

I have a vertical pair of Sc #26 type III where the top stamp has darker shading on the forehead and cheek, a squared off chin and it looks like George is sticking his tongue out (seriously).

I've posted this question a few days ago in a separate post on SCF:
Sc #26 What's up with George's chin?

Thought I would share several of my 1857's

The # 20 is Type II plate 12, a Nice solid # 28, Nice pair of #26 with "PAID" cxl on each stamp, and a likely 26A with Nice Philadelphia Octaganol cxl.

Rich

I suspect you probably already have it, but the Carroll Chase book on the 3c stamp, available here:

https://www.uspcs.org/resource-cent...nic-library/

is the starting point.

Additionally, back-issue Classics Society Chronicles also available on the uspcs.org website.

There has been significant progress on plating #26's since Chase, some published in The Chronicle, and no doubt some not.

Networking with other students really helps - this board is a good jumping off point for that.

You may be aware of these -

Information on the #26s is a bit harder to find, and probably requires a bit of networking.

Nice stamps, Rich. I especially like the #26 pair with the unusual straight-line paid in black.

Rich60 - FYI - The single 3c stamp with the Philadelphia cancel is, in fact, a #26, and not a #26A.

I have been watching this and wish to add a few of the stamps that I have for consideration and any advice that may be offered about them.
Thanks. I am still learning and am pleased with the coaching I have received here and think this image is a good representation of the actual color of these stamps.

Chipshot, Nice!

Can you provide individual images? That would be much better for any review that other members may want to provide.
