Scott 934 – Example Of Canada Post Non Consistencies With Ink And Print Quality.

I took the first 20 Scott 934 stamps from one of my stock books. Started to flyspeck these stamps and was surprised to see the ink/print quality was extremely poor.

Below are just a few of the poor print quality excepted by Canada Post.
A friend of mine who is a large stamp collector who calls me twice a week, I asked him why CBN or BABN were chosen by Canada Post to print their stamps. He said who ever had the cheapest price..Makes sense to me.

There are also many perforation discrepancies.

FIG.2 – Colour taken with software program to show background colour differences.

FIG.3 – Colour manipulation on both stamps at once to show big differences.

FIG.4 – Lettering bubble affects.

FIG.5,6,7 – Colour shifting.?

FIG.8,9 – What looks like a re-entry.?

Wert, there was 2 different plates used. Plates 1 and 2. and 2 different printers
numbers 934 and 934iii and 934iv

Trodent

There were two printers used CBN and BABN. There were two papers used Clark and Harrison. With and without imprints and colors varied also. This is true for many of the definitive issues in this period.

That would explain lots.
