On the arrival postmark I read : Csermö Arad VM A
Csermö is the hungarian name of Cermei (now in Romania, near Arad)
On the bottom line of the address I read : Arad Megye (something like "Arad county")

Hi Makanudo,

Could this stamp have been used in Subotica / Szabadka or do you think this is a different "Szabadka"?

There are still a couple of place names in Hungary that include "szabadka" but they don't seem to fit.

You are correct. It is Subotica-Szabadka, but I think it may be travelling post stamp because there is something else written in the top left part of the cancel and the szabadka word is off center to the right.
Postcard itself , I didnt post it but is relevant to the question since it is of Gombos(Bogojevo now in serbia) and that is 90km from Subotica.
My guess is it travelled to Subotica by train and than to Arad.

Thank you Makanudo.

I wonder if the first part could be BAJA?

There was a direct railway line from Baja to Subotica for many years.

I see there are plans to reinstate this line.

I dont know... the name should be short, but the stamp itself looks odd, with broken parallel lines as if it was struck twice or maybe forged!?

anyway here is the face of the card(card is genuine):

Nice card.

Maybe BÁCS would be a better suggestion given the postcard?

I agree the postmark looks strange.

I thought at first the canceller had just bounced but the change of angle is odd.
