Nickmang - I am in too. Would prefer older, pre-1940, but will go for any 100 for 100. I am new here, so don't know how we exchange addresses. Let me know if you have a preference area, or areas. BobbyT

I started to sort through my dups to come up with 1,000 (mostly) different worldwide - I can do it, but it will be slow going. In 20 minutes or so I came up with 70 different Italian.

But it seems there is not much interest in trading/swapping or even selling through this site. Has everything just moved to E-Bay? I found only 9 topics listed in sales and one of those was the rules which need to be followed.

This seems like a great idea but maybe it has failed in the execution?

There can be conditions that make members avoid swapping.
There is a certain anxiety (I am assuming) of like with like.
"I only US, or No CTO, or pre 1940" etc etc.
That's fine but, not for me.

I am a world wide collector, all my dupes go in an (clean) ice cream container, as I work through albums.

When I swap, they all go in glassines, and into the package.
You get the ripped, torn, abused, Mint unhinged, revenues, covers, souvenir sheets, and whatever else is in there.

I don't have the time to segregate.

If you find a swap partner that is similar to your regime, it's fabulous.
It may take several tries before you get similar achievements.

I have my dups sorted into country glassine. Some I have placed in duplicate albums.

Sure, I get the "like for like" issue.

Is a blind swap literally 50 stamps at random (could even be 50 of the same stamp?)? I am new at this so I am asking questions to try to figure out how to accomplish what I want and what most people probably want which is to trade off what is not desired for stuff that is desired.

I collect worldwide, but concentrate on 1840-1940, so lots of my dups are just more recent stamps I have no place for in my albums.

You can request certain eras for your swap. Some of us will take anything in return.

I sent you an email earlier. I have many stamps from the era you are looking for.

Thanks Diane, I responded to your email. I have since looked at my albums and realize I am heavy in Europe, weak in Latin America. Countries I would enjoy receiving are Iraq, Libya, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Panama, Salvador, and Portugal, but, yes, I will take anything, and most interested in the time frame I mentioned.

So, how many should we try? I went through earlier today, and already separated out 70 different Italy, I can probably do 50 different from most countries.

Best, Bobby

I get what you are saying Rod and am willing to accept that as a condition. I will take whatever you send - always interesting to look at if not to stow away in my collection. Do you have a preference? Shall we give it a try?
