HI Just joined this forum .

Liked stamps fro 67 years. Thought I would post this becuase it is something of interest. This is a cover like one I came across 50 years ago . I have seen it a couple of times over the years. Big LIck is now Ro9anoke Va. ANd I have heard from antuqe deaslers there that the post master in 1845 was a wood carver. Seems like no one ever thought to count the stars . but there is 28 of them and the post master used this cover roight after Texas statehood. I have always thought it was proably the first patriotic cover ever issues.

And if you can imagine such a thing it would be a mexican war patriotic cover - perhaps someone knows of others?

Great cover and story. What other treasures do you know of to share with this group? What are you collecting interests?

Best regards and stay well.
