I couldn't find an issued stamp for which this might be a proof. The design looks like it belongs in the 1887 issue. Does anyone know what this might be? TIA

Whenever I see a wide-margined imperf, I immediately think postal stationery. A quick survey of ebay shows two lots, the second mentions this as being an unissued essay envelope. Your looks like a cut-square.

Very nicely solved. Well done.
Had me stumped, not listed in my link for Argentine stationery, that I could see.
