Image of the Monkey King from the film "Princess Iron Fan", the first Chinese animated feature film. The film is based on an episode of the 16th-century novel "Journey to the West - the adventures of Monkey King". The movie connotes Chinese people determination to fight against Japan by showing the Monkey King's triumph over the Ox King, one of the plot of the Novel. It was directed in Shanghai under difficult conditions in the thick of World War II by Wan Guchan and Wan Laiming (the Wan brothers) and was released on November 19, 1941.

The stamp was issued by the Republic of China (Taiwan) on September 17, 1996:

The Monkey King, a set of nine stamps in sheet issued by Grenada on December 1, 2016. Stamps show scenes from the first Chinese animated full length feature film "Uproar in Heaven", created in 1964.

To celebrate the Chinese Year of the Monkey, Canada issued on January 11, 2016 a set of two stamps with the image of the Monkey King. Here is one of the stamps, shows Monkey King opera mask, in SS. The red area is embossed:

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Brazil and China, both countries jointly issued on October 9, 2000 stamps feature the image of Monkey King from the Chinese Opera.

The first Chinese animated full length feature film "Uproar in Heaven" tells the novel "Journey to the West – Adventures of Monkey King" by Wu Chengen. To commemorate the 50th anniversary to the film, China issued in 2014 this set of six meters showing different scenes from the film.

The image of the Monkey King on two SS's issued for use in the Christmas Island in 2004 and 2016 to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
