In my opinion, if the his daughter had actual listed this with "private listing - bidders' identities protected" (his other sold listings were not configured that way), then it would have been a great opportunity to teach her an ethics lesson by immediately refunding all the money for this one cent stamp.

On the other hand, CK Stamps constantly deceives buyers with these kinds of listings while touting APS membership like this one 362997230203 and this one 353078760084.

Obviously this does not make this situation any better but is the reason why I did not immediately nuke his account. I originally bristled that the community was used this way but thought it best to wait a few days and let things play out. Now it has gone from 'bad' to 'worse'. I have nuked his new MartyMcFly23 account but unlocked his original Mongoose23 account for now so he can reply to this thread.

Believe me, my daughter and I have both learned a lot through this process. I have changed my ebay password and must do a better job monitoring my account. Not sure I understand your statement about how listing with "private listing - bidders' identities protected" would make it a great opportunity to teach her an ethics lesson?

I would like to remain part of this community, as I feel the members here add tremendous value to the overall stamp hobby. What's done is done and I apologize as there was no intention of attempting to deceive anyone. If you decide to ban me from this community, I guess I have to accept the consequence.

I buy from CkStamps a bit and I don't think you can lump him in. He lists 100s to 1000s of stamps and am convinced he does it in the fastest way possible. I bought a misidentified stamp over $1000 from him, and no issues on refund. The imperf stamp I orded was actually a difficult blind perf.

We should try to be careful from making an isolated issue more than it is.

The other thing I like about this, is that you are just as likely to benefit from his haste if you know the market and the material.

Reviewing the previous thread, I only created another login for the opportunity to post an explanation. I think everyone should have an opportunity to be heard before being permanently banned.

I don't understand, if you wanted to have the opportunity to post an explanation, why not use the original login...???

Obviously when you buy and support them you believe that their listings are acceptable.

The only 'lumping' that I have done is to call out deceptive listings. In my opinion a deceptive listings are bad for our hobby regardless of the 'intention' or reason(s) for the bad listing. I make no differentiation on the reason(s) for a bad listing other than frequency. Everyone makes mistakes which is why Mongoose23 is still here.

But when deceptive listings become a trend, for whatever reason(s), then hobbyists are getting ripped off and something needs to improve. CK has had poor quality listings which include misidentifications in their favor for years. Documented from at least 2015, having 5 years to fix your mistakes seems like plenty of time to fix what is obviously broken.

To their credit I agree with you that they will make it right IF the buyer catches the issue but many (the majority?) do not.

I have checked the ownership and reported this on SCF a few times. As I remember the addresses are also very close to each other.

NYStamps, CKStamps and Sun Philatelic. All Flushing, NY. All owned by Ji Sun. Principle Jian Yuan.

https://goscf.com/t/57137 Oh how I wished I had saved the link to these two Ji Sun businesses as this comes up often.

CK is literally across the street from where I lived about 30 years ago.

These are actually over a mile apart. And they are both almost certainly private residences, not business addresses.

I am getting more and more confused. This Mongoose that is going through an old stamp album for fun is the same Mongoose that spent $3600 on a 120A Cartel stamp that was "on its way to the PSE" but is now "on its way back to London awaiting a refund"?

Still never answered my question. Did you reach out to the buyer and let them know that the description of the stamp was wrong and ask if they'd like a refund? Or are you taking the money and running hoping they don't figure it out? You were told here that it wasn't printed on both sides but listed it as that anyways. I'm shaking my head at this whole thing.

No need for confusion, gents. I inherited an old stamp album from my grandfather who got me into stamps when I was 12. Most of the album is complete with the exception of very rare and expensive stamps. Hence, I joined this community to learn more as I know there are many forgeries out there. I can spend money and "have fun" too. If you review the thread, I did not post the stamp and have made updates to make sure this confusion doesn't happen again. And, yes, the ebay buyer has been contacted.
