Colour Shades On The Cover Of Charles And Diana Presentation Pack

I have seen various shades of the crest on the cover of the presentation pack but I have only one with the green completely missing.

Has anyone else found any of these?

Opinion:
All colours differ, perhaps lighter.
ergo, light damage.
Been kept in a window display? etc.

I should have said in my original post that they had all been stored, since original purchase, in the same cupboard.
Bought in P.O. on release date.

So far as I am aware, the red would normally be the first colour to fade and this is the green and it is also completely missing, not so much as a patch showing.

Only of passing interest but thought it worth showing.

My opinion was reasoned by assuming the green has really not disappeared,
just faded.
The feathers would have been printed in one pass, I assume,
thereby it cannot be any other way, unless the ink was spoiled at print time, and you didn't pick it up.

Only speculation on my part, but I welcome any other suggestions.

Does the presentation pack offer help with "traffic lights" on the colours used?
If brown is not there, and green only, then I don't see any other explanation.

How about the "marriage" text, has that faded?

Unfortunately there are no other indicators on the pack, such as traffic lights and the text and lines are the same on both pack.

Close inspection with a magnifier shows no trace whatever of the green though, interestingly, the dark green 'jewels' on the left and right hand side of the crown are not affected.


I know about 'fading' and following a request from a UK friend put a block of four of the Coronation stamp in the sun, but covered the left hand pair to protect it.
The attached image shows the result.

I've a faint memory the Royal Wedding was VERY popular with the general public, issued stock sold out real quick, a second lot was made differing slightly.....same stamps. Noticed same myself back then.

Thanks for the memory note Finches, hard to remember after all this time.

This one is back in the box with a note, simply for interest.
