I'm having difficulties determining if it is type I, II, III or IV

Type III ... the most common of the four.

I knew it was nothing special, so the Scott number is 26 ($9 value).

But how did you arrive to that conclusion the from craziness below:

The lower left corner shows the left frame line (and that of the adjacent stamp frame line) continuing well past the bottom of the main image.

The left frame line on your stamp clearly extends well beyond the stamp design. If it were type IV, the line would not extend so far below the design. In fact, you can see the right frame line of the stamp immediately to the left of your stamp ... it stretches even a bit further with no sign of a break.

Ohhh I see. All you guys are saying is that there is *not* a break in the line. For type IV there is a break in the line in between stamps.

Correct. Type 3 has side frame lines with no break between stamps, no top or bottom frame lines, and no inner frame lines.
