What Is Up With My Ro141? Dt?

I picked up a RO141 recently and the color in general is not very sharp, but the top right corner of the stamp is "smeared"? or something. Perhaps if it was a sharper print I would suspect a double transfer, though the catalog does not list a DT for this issue. Any ideas on what caused this?

I have at least 3 Scott unlisted match & medicine double transfers, so that in itself does not mean a whole lot. I would like to see a scan of the whole stamp, preferably with as high a resolution as is practical.

Hard to say from a scan. It might be a muddy print, a small kiss, or a DT. This would have to be viewed in person, at least for me.

imo a worn plate on over moistened soft paper,especially if watermarked. if on old paper a closer in person exam would be necessary to narrow your options. a comparison to another copy might also help to narrow the field.

This is on old paper. I was wondering if it is related to the ultramarine ink. Seems like a lot of M&M's ultras are poor print quality.?

From this scan on my PC it appears to be blue. Not enough gray in it to be ultra. But shades on a PC are just guesswork most of the time. Occasionally on first issue revenues the impression will help give the shade away.

My apologies. My camera does a number on violet/blue shades. It really intensifies the color. (It does the opposite with pink!) Probably due to the lights I'm using. I didn't make any effort to correct the color in the earlier posts. I was more interested in the ink patterns than the color. I've made an effort to adjust the image to better match the stamp. Not 100% match (the paper is a bit more yellow) but a heck of a lot closer than the first images.

I always try to look at ultras in sunlight; I wouldn't use a PC scan for telling such shades.

i agree with revcollector. I have seen blue shades of quite a few match and medicines that look ultra in artificial light or photos (scans) that are blue in daylight.
