727 Kluane Paper Varieties

Hi, everyone:

I have a bunch of plate blocks with matched sets from this issue.

Question is:
- I have plate blocks with Fluoresency with and without sparkles. Are these both just 727 or is one an unlisted variety?
- Perhaps one is Clark or Harrison paper? How to tell the difference?

By HB sparkles, I believe you may mean SF (speckled fluorescent paper).

The 2020 Unitrdae does not indicate SF or HB paper varieties, only LF and NF papers.

Can you post pictures of the two versions under ultraviolet lamp?

Gentle suggestion, can we do this without abbreviations and acronyms?

HB - Hibrite fluorescent paper

SF - Speckled fluorescent fibers in the paper

LF - Light fluorescent paper

NF - non-fluorescent paper

I think that the best question to ask is that if anyone knows the difference between the Clark and Harrison papers?

On mint stamps,gum side.
Easy to distinguish as mentioned in Unitrade

Clark ---- clear

Harrison ----- blue green tinge

Plus if as you say you have plate blocks check if
Plate # 3 it is Clark paper and plate # 4 it's Harrison paper.

I have two matched plate block sets from Plate Block 1. The others are just blocks. Bileski labeled them, however, I know from past experience that Bileski cannot be trusted 100%. None are Harrison (no tinge).

SF - Speckled fluorescent paper (labeled as "F + H")
DSF - Dull paper with speckled fluorescent (labeled as "D + H")
F - Fluorescent paper
From Plate 2 - Low Fluorescent Paper

The Unitrade I have (2020) only mentions Low Fluorescence and Non-Fluorescent. (below)

I would believe that these are all from Plate 1 or 2? Is there any other resource differentiating them with more specifics?

If there were so many differing flourescence types, other than LF for Abitibi why does unitrade not list them after the paper types? Unless it is unknown. Listing them may assist in identification of other papers without gum and imprints if they have varying degrees of flourescense.

I have an example of a Kluane stamp from Plate 4, with the inscription line on the stamp shifted up by a few mm, and right by perhaps 1 mm. Also, the typeface for CANADA seems different than the normal stamp, most noticeably in the letter D.

I don't see any mention of this variety in Unitrade. Does anyone know anything about it? Or, could this be a forgery? (e.g. does the plate inscription look right?)
