I suspect this might be a controversial subject and this thread may get removed. Show us LGBTQ+ stamps. Be it people or symbols. I will start. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Gilbert Baker (1951-2017) was an American artist and designer of the rainbow flag, a worldwide symbol of LGBTQ pride. He served in the army, then lived in San Francisco as an openly gay man. He first created the rainbow flag in 1978, originally with eight colored stripes. In 1994, he moved to New York City. In 2003, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the flag, he created one that stretched from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean across Key West, Florida.
During 1979, hot pink and turquoise were removed from the original flag. The six-color flag has always included indigo (or blue). |
