Hi all,

I discovered three Rhodesia Double Head stamps while working through a collection passed down to me. With a quick bit of internet research I realized these are quite an in depth specific area of study and got a bit overwhelmed. Is there a go-to source to spend a bit more time looking into the specifics of these? Any opinionS on these three? I picked up on that there may be quite a few fakes out there and while I feel like these are real, I know just enough to know I know almost nothing... lol

Yours are fine , the fakes you talk about are the cancels on the higher values not fake stamps.

Arguably the most beautiful stamps ever produced.

Stanley Gibbons has a lot of detail regarding shade and perforation varieties.

I'm sure there'll be a specialist publication. These stamps are VERY popular!

If you want to learn more of the Double Heads than probably the best resource is the Rhodesia Study Circle, and, as Bobby has already pointed out Stanley Gibbons will also be very helpful, in particular, the "Southern and Central Africa Catalogue".

There are an enormous number of varieties, SG lists about 10 variations of the 1d alone. To narrow down what you have, first, check the perf count.
Here is the Rhodesian Study Circle page on the 1d Double Head - http://www.rhodesianstudycircle.org...tish-empire/
