I have this stamp in a large collection I inherited a while ago from my mother's, father's, and grandfather's collection but I cannot seem another like it in looking around the web. I believe it is from Uruguay since the overprinting says 'Administration Nacional...' and 'de Combustibles' but am not sure of the country. I would be thankful if anyone could please identify it. Thank you.
Not a postage stamp, most likely a charity label,or some kind of revenue stamp. I think Uruguay is correct. Your stamp is very similar to this one : (R.O.U. stands for República Oriental del Uruguay)
Thank you for providing those details. One last question about this stamp. I am preparing my large collection to sell and was wondering what, if any, value this sort of stamp might have when I put it up for sale?
If it is not an actual postage stamp, are there any places to find at least approximate value?
