Hello,

Are these common stamps? I see from the guide a member contribute BH used, it was made probably in 1862. It is affixed so I can't examine the back. I read the remarks about rag content differences, but dud not really understand the remarks about spitting silk fibers.

neither the stamp or the cancel is rare. I would enjoy seeing the entire document. meany times the loose embossed cancels of this type have missing parts due to the strength of the embossing. the stamp most likely does not have silk fibers, they came in later than this appears to have been used. the Scott no. is R25c. stampsmarter.com will give you more info, so will the revenue preface of the Scott specialized cat.
