Two Austrian stamps with Hungarian cancellations? I make the first (Scott #4e) to be Varazdin, a city then part of Hungarian lands, now in northern Croatia. The second (Scott 14) seems to be Miskolcz, a city still in northeastern Hungary. Does anyone have another idea?
Thank you, vayolene, both for the correct spelling and for the confirming image. Cancellations from the time of the unitary monarchy are particularly interesting. I house them with my Hungarian collection.
Thanks to you too, revstampman. Cancellations such as these are another way in which stamps reveal the history of places that have had, if anything, more than their share.
