What Is Going On With This Byam Match Wrapper (Ro52)?

This match wrapper has some faint doubling of the inside border and the "BYAM MATCHES." text of the right pane:

Any ideas on what caused this?

Ink bleed. The wrappers were printed by American Phototype from wood block engraving plates. So there are no real plate varieties of the kind associated with the engraved stamps. There are foldovers, and there are proofs without dates, but that is all the variety I have ever seen.

The plate might not have been cleaned properly from the precious printing.

I was wondering if the wrappers were printed differently.

Also interesting, I have a RO56h without a date. That's a proof?
