Crazy amount of stuff. It is stamps, right? Not an investment lot of toilet paper? |

LOL ---I once got 22 of those large boxes from Greg Manning Auctions in 1993 way before ebay started . Back then the Auction firms would welcome my bidding for those bulk lots .Back around that time I was the only bidder at a Rasdale Auction of a huge box lot ,when they brought the boxes to my truck ,they included two other large lots because I had room in the truck and they just wanted them out of the office .Those were the days . |

What did that all cost to ship? (from/to where?) How many pounds/boxes? I dare not ask what the lots themselves cost. It would be wonderful to have this much 'work' to keep one busy these days though :-) |

I have occasionally broken down 20 box collection/accumulations. They are certainly a lot of fun to work on.

Wow, that would definetly have to be put in the basement or garage for fear the floor might collapse. |

I couldn't for the life of me figure out what you were getting at.... until I clicked on the link. At some level, that is very funny. At another level, it is very sage advice. And yet at a 3rd level, it's just very very sad. I dream that when I win the lottery (I have LITERALLY thought this), I will buy a mansion with its own dedicated stamp room, and will go to this-or-that auction and just keep buying cartons like a freaking mad man! Kinda buy 2-3 TIMES what is pictured in this thread. Carton lots, individual lots, etc. Hire a trucker to get it to my place. Hire some movers to get it all inside (to some lower level). Then just go to work on it all. |

Quote: Kinda buy 2-3 TIMES what is pictured in this thread. As a collector of definitives, dues, and officials, my scope of collecting is miniscule compared to many if not most of the other collectors in this forum. Yet, I have difficulty keeping up with managing and organizing my stamps. I truly envy those of you who can tackle the scope of "Big Blue" type collecting and work through massive lots like these, quickly. |

I might've done the equivalent of 1 of those pallets in the last 5 years, so I'm with you Shermae - I think the parking lot full shown would literally kill me and last a lifetime to get through. Might even stop being fun, and just plain work. |

Whoa - some of you misunderstood my post. It was tongue in cheek - its from the website of a dealer. I only got one small pallet of stuff. I just thought it was a funny photo - especially if you are a stamp collector. |
