Help With Cancelations

Hello! I'm beginning my collection and I would like to know if cancelations like these ones can add some value to stamps like these. Any coments are welcome.

I don't think these add value, however, I have a pile of my own and I would like to hear if anyone is aware of a good resource (online preferably) that helps with cataloging and valuing cancelations.

Most information about a cancel and any additional value it used to have were destroyed when the cover was destroyed by soaking the stamp off of it. Now all you have is a used stamp to grade as to its physical condition.

That is the difference between collecting stamps and postal history.

jose.ze, The first is a mute double oval handstamp typically found on registered or parcel post mail. The second is the killer portion of a steel duplex style of handstamp from Grand Central Station in New York City, thus the "GC". The third is a killer portion of a machine cancel with a very common slogan used in many US cities.

Pasco, I know of no catalog that provides values for mid 20th century US cancels like these. Quite frankly, they don't add any additional value because they are the standard cancels encountered on the bulk of the mail of that era. But the variety of cancels does make the group more interesting than wavy-lines from machines.
