.

Discovered one of these in a China lot.

Values on ebay seem quite high. Unable to find much information and wondering what would be the average value?

TIA

Looks like a C43 or C48 of Republic of China. Which one depends on a watermark. Minimal catalog value for that stamp.

These stamps were issued around May 1946. If it is watermarked, then it is Scott catalog #C43 and the 2017 catalog value is US$0.70. If it is not watermarked then it is Scott catalog #C48 and the Scott catalog value is US$0.60.

The $73.00 overprinted on unwatermarked 25c Orange is the expensive one in the set. The 2017 Scott catalog value is US$2,000 !

I just wanted to clarify the $73 overprinted on 25c. There are 3 versions of that stamp. Don't do like I did and get excited the first time I found one. The expensive rare one is Perforated 14. The more common ones are 13, 13 x 12 or 12.5. Alas, mine was not perf 14.
