Help On Australian Counter Printed Stamps (Cps)

Hi all,

I am trying to get more information on the Australian Counter Printed Stamps (CPS) that were issued in 1993.


In particular, I would like to know the production details, such as the type of printing used, the printer used, the type of paper used etc etc, as well as philatelic information such as the number of stamps printed.

(I remember reading somewhere that the information can be found in the relevant Australian Stamp Bulletins in 1993/1994, but unfortunately, the archives in Australia Post's website do not got back that far...)

Technical details of the first Counter-printed stamps are found in the ASB no.220(June-July 1993), page 7.
Issue date: 21 June 1993
Denominations: As required (45c to $9,999.99 available)
Designer: Betina Ogden
Printer: Pemara Labels
Paper: Phosphor-coated Jac Paper
National postmark: National Philatelic Centre, Melbourne 3000

I'm sure others can give further details.

The Michel Automatenmarken-Spezial catalog includes this footnote about the set, "The ink of the value imprint is water soluble."
