This was in an envelope marked 482A which is obviously wrong. That is when the the fun started. Type A139, no watermark with a Schermack perforation. Top and bottom margins IMO are sufficient that it was or is an imperf. Fake perf or something I missed in my Scott Specialized?

Probably a real Schermack attacked by insects. It's not unusual to find them cut like this. Probably a 482 instead of a 482A.

Text at bottom is "TWO CENTS" thus can only be 344 or 384.
It will have a watermark.
I agree, the damage is most likely from insects.

Under magnification I found a "very small" portion of a single line "S" watermark at the very bottom of the stamp. 384 it is. Thanks for the feedback and guidance.
