Sorry, but I am going to *push back*. One should not have to do lots of re-reading. If you can't point out within a single post exactly what we should be seeing. I'm outta here. I don't have time to waste going over a topic nearly 3 years old. I see we have all been trying to tell you the same message about double transfers for *many* years.

Okay John Becker, since you don't have any time to read but you have all the time in the world to post...

I believe I have found similar double transfer or re-entry stamps like the original post.

That's the topic + my post.

PS If you don't have anything constructive to say or nice - don't post.

souldjer777,
Rest assured I will NEVER darken another of your threads here ever again. I have added your username to the very short list of participants of this community that I will never reply to or share my knowledge with.

We need to bring it down a notch and just stay on topic. Sometimes I wonder if people are just picking fights here... I mean it's stamps people, it's not MMA. It should be THE most laid back, calm and inviting forum on the internet. Why is everyone so angry? (please DO NOT answer that question, stay on topic)

This forum topic has kicked the bucket. Time to start over somewhere else.

It seems to me that staying on topic involves posting another candle in the same position as the first candle. We should be able to toggle between stamp images and see perfs change, but the candle staying the same, no?

No one is angry just no one is agreeing with your assessment. Is this disagreement what you are calling off topic?

You have been told how to prove your point:

I don't see a re entry but I do see the stray ink on the strip of three. This is caused by 'trash" being stuck to the transfer roll. It may be dirt, paper fibers, cloth from wiping, etc and it usually shows on successive plate entries. This remains until it is removed or falls off and is not at all uncommon on Civil War Revenue stamps.

I do agree with the above post by lachemacher. It looked to me a bit like a dirty plate, but something interfered with the printing process. I do not think it is a re-entry.
Souldjer, have you tried talking to Ralph at re-entries about some of these?

Peter

That would still produce a consistent plate variety for the one position.

As noted by John Becker, this stamp did not have a major run. the Plate numbers are limited to six with four positions per plate, ignoring the wet/dry differences. That said, this is not valuable stamp and full sheets are common. Securing all 24 or the correct one of 24 will produce a verification copy if such exists.

Edit: I started a thread here: https://goscf.com/t/84171 which I ask you souldjer777 to visit. It is entitled, "Q-4 Which Is The Plate Variety & Why - Exploring Plate Varieties Beyond Calling Everything A Reentry."
