I found a daguerreotype cabinet photo. On back is a torn George Washington two-cent stamp. I think this is a revenue stamp.

Yes, it is a U.S. revenue stamp.
Photos were taxed in this manner Aug 1, 1864-Aug 1, 1866.
Several articles can be found via Google with search terms of: 1864 photograph tax
