Scott 496 - Constant Variety Or Just An Oddity...?

Was looking through a few blocks and came across this 1 block Scott 496.
There was a little oddity on one of the stamps on this block.

On the sheet if it is indeed a variety, it appears in position 44.
Would be helpful if some one else out there can find the same oddity.

let this be a lesson to ALL collectors new and experienced that hard work and a good eye can bring new finds out in the open.

Some collectors are not fine with flyspecking and that is ok, but to those who do can bring out information.
