Yes, and for relaxation you can take a break and plate Penny Reds or catalogue China overprints.

On the plus side, it is impressive to see the resulting work product when someone puts in the time to do this...

Looks terribly confusing to me; sort of like working on Where's Waldo?

Yes, India can be confusing. Try spending time with a couple of hundred overprinted Hyderabad "seals".

I'm okay with the KGVI Reign India States, but the earlier ones, especially for forgeries, can be a challenge.

Actually, David, the Convention States with the British monarchy do not present too much of a problem compared to the Feudatory States. Jammu, Hyderabad, Travancore can really be a pain in the neck if you try to take them on too seriously. I have some 30 or 40 Alwar and every time I try to work seriously on them I run out of guts before I even start.

Clearly, this task is beyond both your temperament and patience Tony,
life just wasn't meant to be this stressful.
Please just send me the J&K and relax with your Belgian Fiscals.

I have about 500 of the Hyderabad official overprints, and they are an absolute delight to catalogue.
I received them about 20 months ago, and I only have about 370 left to study.

Ya, I see you go at the Hyderabad op's at about the same speed as me. Not about to run out of stamping work any time soon either of us. I have a cigar box full of Brazilian education, travel, aviation, agriculture, etc. which I have approached with hesitation a number of times and I always end up reverting to something less marriage-ending. Until lately I had a contact near Rio who was wont to work very hard and often on these issues. I have lost contact with him - he's probably in a home or institution or something. Hyderabad op's do that to you too.

Tony, if you'd like scans of the sheets of those Jammu & Kashmir, just ask. I still have a spare sheet or two of the ¼ Anna, if you'd like one.
