Great Britain Scott #43 Inverted Watermark Question

As you can see in the pics, I have what appears to be a GB #43, Plate 12. When I checked the watermark, it, indeed, has the Large Garter Wmk #23, but it is upside down. The Scott Catalog that lists GB nor the Classic Specialized lists an inverted watermark - although it does show one for #34. Can anyone shed any light om this thing? Am I seeing something wrong? If not, any information on inverted watermarks on #43?

The Stanley Gibbons catalogue lists this stamp with an inverted watermark, and the price is the same as for the normal watermarked stamp.

I believe Scott does not list watermark differences regularly. They are inconsistent at best.

So...I hadn't seen an inverted watermark on these until a few days ago, and today I found my second one, this time on a plate 11. I am now assuming these are fairly common. Are there any plates that this is NOT found on...and are there any less common than others?
Part of the fun of collecting GB is the varities I keep stumbling across.

If you are going to collect GB I would get Scotts right out of your mind and pick up the Stanley Gibbons GB Concise Stamp catalogue. They have their own numbering system of course and the cost isn't very high. Single country, smaller size and smaller price. I paid about $25 for the 2013 hardcover version off Amazon.

I agree with the previous poster that it makes sense to use Stanley Gibbons catalogues if you collect any but the most basic stamps of Great Britain. However, does the Concise catalogue nowadays list watermark varieties by plate number? Or would you need the Specialised Stamp Catalogue (Volume 1 for Queen Victoria stamps) for that information?

@tgswanner: Your plate 11 inverted wmk is the normal stamp.

The Specialised 12th edition lists:
plate 7: only upright wmk
plate 8, 9: upright wmk, also inverted (slightly higher price)
plate 10: inverted wmk (no upright wmk)
plate 11: inverted wmk (normal), also upright (not priced)
plate 12: upright wmk, also inverted (same price)
plate 13, 14: only upright wmk

The Consise does not go that far. At least my 2013 doesn't. I guess I also need to pick up yet another catalogue for the basement library.
