I've been working on the 2000 to date section of my Israel collection this week, and I'm becoming more and more impressed with the beauty of the modern Israeli issues. The scan may not do them justice, but here are two random issues. Look how intricate they are - and of course the tabs add a lot to the look of the stamp.

Nice stamps Greg !

Have you obtained all the 2000-to date issues ??

If you have any gaps send me a list or let me/us know here.

I got a Pessah sheet that is supposedly in limited supply. I cannot verify the info but that's the gossip.

Here it is. Let me know if of interest.

Here is another recent....nice Birdies !

tweet tweet?

"Tweet Tweet" is a little noise a poor birdie makes when he [or she] is hungry. It is more like a shrill but with tones, and is like that to make the possible food bearer feel sorry for him [or her]. When that giver of possible tasty morsels turns around to say "Shut up" at the top of his [or her] voice, the little birdie looks up with a sad, cold, hungry look. In most cases the man [or woman] will start to feel sorry for shouting and will rush into his [or her] house and look for some crumbs of bread or biscuits. Sometimes they may even get something even more tasty like Granola or Whisky cake, the latter especially if it is around Christmas time.
Of course problems can occur if the Whisky cake is given to that poor ,cold, hungry birdie. Later that same day the man [or woman] may hear "Tweet, hic, Tweet". Just imagine if you heard that !! You would suddenly realise that you gave that poor birdie some Alcohol.
Yikes !!

The moral of all this rubbish is this;
If you feed birds every day with normal nice tasty goodies like Hazlenuts, Cornflakes or Entrecote Steak in a pepper sauce, then you will never get angry at their "Tweet,Tweets" or their "Tweet, hic,Tweets" and you will never make the mistake of feeding them forbidden foods like Whisky Cake or Zabaglione.

Look after the Birds, especially in the winter.
And when they say "Tweet, Tweet", turn around and smile, talk to them and give them a Birdie Menu to choose something delicious from.

Thank You.

Spock1.....now you know what is "Tweet Tweet".

Londonbus1......Mmm! The whisky cake was yummy !

Hic !

Well Mr Spock1k, when you simply write 'tweet tweet?' what is one supposed to think.

It sounded like you did not know what it was.
And that little birdie was so happy to have his story told !
Now he is upset with you.

Give him some crumbs quick !

In the meantime, here are some Beautiful Israel Issues .....

After the Flag Issue in the previous post, this is my most favourite Israel Issue. This only the cover...maybe I should write about it sometime.

Yes.

I agree. I've been collecting Israel tabbed singles for quite some time. In fact I'm awaiting my first shipment of 2010 stamps in the next couple of weeks.

Out of curiosity what album pages do you mount your collection in. I use White Ace.

hi weavus,
How is your collection coming along?
Nice to see you are signed up with the Philatelic service...or do you have another source for Israel Stamps?
Regarding the album, I have my Israel Stamps in Stock sheets. One day I may treat myself or do my own but I just need more time and/or money !
I stopped collecting new issues in 2005 but still acquire bits that I like or am given.

Hey 'Bus'. Actually my collection is doing pretty well. I have most singles and souvenir sheets back to 1948. I forget where my mint tabbed singles kick in but they go back a fair number of years. I started this collection back in the 90's sometime (maybe 92/93). I picked up a couple of collections to start from a local shop auction and got started that way. I upgraded a number of those stamps to mint along the way (over the years). I get my new issue stamps from a stamp club in Israel. At the risk of violating a rule the name of the club is Eilat Philatelic Club. Essentially I get them at face plus postage. A pretty easy way to keep current. And since I buy the album pages one year at a time, that isn't too expensive either.

I was a member of SIP for a fair number of years and somehow just lost a little interest in the publication and quit paying the dues.
