Here's one that looks too good to be true. Seller in Eqypt with 18 Feedback, highest price previous sale $1.99. Don't miss the pair of inverts, or the mint block of #122 among many others, wow!

Link fixed in Ken's post.

FYI - Forum code now automatically builds correct links when you simply paste in the ebay item number. No need to paste in some long address, just copy and paste teh ebay item number.

I've reported the lot to ebay - we'll see if anything happens. Hopefully others have reported it as well.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

IMHO all of his feedback is bogus. Highest rated buyer is at 22. Others are at 2, 4, and 10.

Love the way all the tasty bits are interspersed among used 1940's-1950s....

I wonder what's for sale "inside" the antique store!

[Note for posterity, the listing is entitled "old usa album This auction is for hundreds of stamps outside antique store"]

I love the fact that there is the upper half of what appears to be an inverted Jenny in the last photo. Just casually in there.

There are enough perfs there to make an identification possible, assuming it is genuine.

I would love to know the full story behind this lot--what the seller actually knows and what his intentions are, and who the bidders are, and what they are thinking. Obviously it is a mediocre collection salted with some forgeries--a fantasy collection, and in a nice stock book. But if it is purely a money laundering lot, seems like a lot of work, and not very inconspicuous. Why market it internationally ('free economy shipping with tracking'-LOL) and not just local?

Nobody in the market to spend $7,000 for US stamps would happen across this lot with no search terms etc--and it would take not just one, but more than one bidder for bidding to reach that level--very highly suspicious.

But then again people are bidding $80,000 for Monogolia CTO's so what do I know?

At some level, I am hoping the seller is innocent, and some troll bidders are driving this up and bringing attention to it. I could see maybe spending a couple hundred dollars on this, as a gamble, but nothing more. But, the whole thing just doesn't make any sense.

I like how the "aged paper" on the Perry $1 block is restricted to inside the perfs

There are a lot of obvious fakes; photo reproductions of some kind. Anything that is worth any real money is fake, only the common stamps are genuine. It's just a scam. They have done a CYA in the description by saying they may or may not be genuine and they don't know anything about stamps, but this was not put together by accident. Although I have seen collections like this, with photos of rarities mixed in with the more common material.
