No one forced these people to bid. Assuming there are real bidders, they are willing participants. Saying they are acting foolishly or being greedy is NOT "victim shaming", it is simply stating facts.
Whether it be securities/investments, classic cars, antiques, bullion, luxury clothing, jewelry/watches, real estate or stamps there are two principal parties involved in scamming/fraud, one being the criminal and one being the victim. I have never seen a court case involving fraud where the judge dismissed because the victim "should have known better". Silliness
