Can someone help me to understand what is sideline watermark? Please see the scan of these Australian stamps.

I believe that means the stamp comes from a sheet edge position.

The lines are edge impressions of the Dandy Roll, that compresses the paper to make the watermarks.

Very important to Australian collectors, as it assists to plate the stamp, ie to establish its position in the group forme.

Nice impressions of Watermarks, how did you do that ?
