Someone wrote something about FB and I commented on it. Or tried to: I was told I can't write that, but for the life of me, I have no clue what I did wrong.
Can I forward the text privately to a moderator, so he/she can explain exactly what words were forbidden?

Yes, you can send it to me. As far as I know, there is no issue with mentioning FB. There are a handful of programmatic blocks on a few websites because they have previously had a negative financial impact on this community and there is one disallowed topic due to the same reason. And of course porn and anything that you would not want your 12 year old child to read is also disallowed. Software hacks, copyright infringement, and other illegal things are also disallowed.
Politics and religion topics are frowned upon although there is no specific rule against them; it is not that these topic are bad or specifically disallowed, it is that many people cannot discus them without launching personal attacks (which are against the rules).
The SCF rules and Terms of Use page is about as short as any website that you can find.

OK, it claims it passed on my mail to you, without censorship.

I sent you a reply, it was a single company name for the reasons explained above.

Censorship is a strong word and often used in relationship with the press. The owner of this forum has previously been burned by a handful of companies and has chosen to not support them. As consumers we all make decisions on who we choose to support. There is no 'free speech' issue, this is not a press outlet. It is a hobby forum and which companies it decides to support remains the choice of its owner.

The 'lack of explanation' is as follows. There are a handful of names that are disallowed and the owner does not want to support; it make NO sense to turn around and list those names. And in fact whenever a disallowed name is posted the automated message does indeed provide an explanation. It reads,

Quote:
Sorry, You are trying to post something that is prohibited.

This could be, but not limited to, a website or service that has spammed us in the past or is not family friendly.

Important: It's actually sad that we have to say this but unfortunately we do. This does not mean it's ok to come up with a way around the block. It's not ok to give exact words to search on Google, misspell it, or come up with any other way to get around the block. Any attempt to get around this block could, and most likely will, result in immediate banning from the forum.

So in my opinion this was not a case of 'censorship' nor was there 'a lack of explanation'.
