HI Everyone, New Here At Scf, Collector From Nj, USA Specialising In Pre-1940 (Mainly Colonies).

Hi everyone! I am a Phd student here in the US, and originally from India. I collect pre-1940 as per the Big Blue with custom additions. I enjoy presenting the stamps as much as the stamps themselves. My plan is to create custom album pages with historical elements and relevant write-ups thrown in. I will upload all pages from a country when I am done with making the pages.

I want to go for the Europe and colonies portion of the Big Blue first. I use custom printed A4 pages (Neenah 67lb Vellum - Cream), with 3 hole punches, glassine interleaves, black mounts and leather We r Memory Keepers binders. I have a reference 1947 Big Blue (also the Scott International Part-II from 1948), which I fill with duplicates. I am a big fan of http://bigblue1840-1940.blogspot.com/ which I use as my starting reference. I am fairly new to collecting, so SCF and the Big Blue blogs are a great help.

It was in the pages forum. I realised I did not put in an introduction at SCF so made a separate post. I edited it with a reference to the previous post.

Classic - I, too, am using Big Blue, Volume I, to store the majority of my collection. I did have to get a second Volume I, and have them marked "A" and "B".

I also collect US new and used until the 1980s, same time frame for Hungary, Scandinavia and the Baltic Countries (I have MInkus specialized albums for those), and Birds on Stamps.

I have been collecting since childhood so I have lots of "stuff" , not all of it presented in an album.

I also have a modern collection of the US, Germany, Poland and Czech. I keep them in Steiner pages in a binder with protective sheets with hinges applied (I do not work too hard on them!).

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.
