After 50 years of waiting - since I first set eyes on it in a black & white illustration in an old Gibbons Part 1 as a teenager - I've finally acquired the last of the Indian States items that got me started on them in the first place:

The sheet of SG 60 and 61, the 1868 ˝ Anna (positions 1, 2 and 4) and 1 Anna (position 3) of Jammu & Kashmir, issued for Jammu

It was this sheet, along with the first stamps of Bhor (my avatar), the Jammu & Kashmir Circulars

the first issues of Jind

and the Poonch 4 Anna

that drew me irresistibly into the Indian States. Now I can die happy

Spock has been as good as his word:

Thanks indeed, Spock ! A very handsome tribute to the Uglies! Now I hope this will become an annual event, with Barwani featuring prominently ...

BTW it is not a tribute to the uglies. they realized they got it wrong witht he uglies a few years ago so they corrected the mistake :)

Rod,
