Quote: The stamp is indeed Kochchi 1944 6P Sc O59.
The type q ovpt. is also depicted in Scotts in the subsequent surcharged Kochchi 1944 Keralavarma VI official stamps in which G is what it should be.
The same ovpt. is type O10 in SG.
ok, now I am totally confused.... there is no reference to this overprint style for O58-O62. If not listed specifically and called out, I though the methodology was to use the picture right above the listing, not below it. |

You are not getting it.
Type q ovpt. was used on Kochchi 1944 Sc O58-O62 and also on surcharged 1944 Sc O67-O69.
The image in Scott below Sc O62 is intended to illustrate the surcharge type, not the Sc O58-O62 On C G S ovpt. type.
But for some reason best known to Scott, the G in the image above Sc O58 differs with the G in the image below Sc O62 even though the ovpt. is the same type q. |

(Jhind Convention State) TIP: With India always try and supply Scott "Type" in this case A46 Wmk 196 is correct Scott failure to insert, however it is by their information, we can see it is Wmk 196, by their advice "India stamps of 1926-1935" the corollory follows that they must be Wmk 196 From memory, my KGV 3 pies do come in grey and slate I'll need to consult my Gibbons to confirm. Hey rodd- Tks for the clarification. Sorry for all this confusion - I guess where I'm not making the connection is in the jind listing I do see "India Stamps of 1926-35 Overprintd - c" but I think where I am getting lost is I expect to see somewhere in the India section that heading and here is it pointing to No's 106-125, 1926-36. I guess the way my brain works is that if it's listed in the front and is referenced, I expect to see the exact heading so a match can be made while then seeing a note that the 1936 is excluded in jind section... Hope I am making sense here.
If I understand you correctly, because they have excluded the 111a small die and being the only 1936, they changed the listing to read up to 1935 in jind section.... |

That's right S4L, youv'e got it. I came from Stanley Gibbons referencing, which was a nightmare, Scott was a breath of fresh air, but it does have it's faults. Turkey was one area of confusion.
This is a small hiccup, and as you get more aufait with Scott, it will fall into place.
