4cent Mint Condition Block Of Four

Hi, im fairly new to stamping, so please forgive me for any incorrect terms. I have a "block" (four connected unused stamps) of 4 cent stamps. Mint condition. Would this be considered a valuable, collectable item?

We can not answer this question, because we have no idea what you are talking about. Please post a picture of what you have, as in country, catalog number etc.

If you post a photo, front and back, the country and perhaps even catalog number can be discerned if you don't have the number.

Until then, my answer to your question is a strong, firm, "Maybe or certainly perhaps."

Trying not to be critical......don't say or think 'stamping' again. That's not what we do.

In general a block of 4 can be either higher or equal in value compared to 4 singles. It depends on the issue. Let us know the country and year and we can get closer.

I've found that blocks of 4 without plate numbers or imprints (which show printer's information) - generally aren't as popular an item as they once were. Even blocks that include plate numbers and imprints aren't selling for the premium they once were - I think.

Now if you had an inverted Jenny airmail block of 4 we'd be talking 7 figures.

risny, I guess you missed the memo, that block of 4 with plate number of C3a is up for auction here: https://www.sothebys.com/en/digital...an?locale=en and the sale include a non-block of four of a different single. But both of the stamp lots may be out matched in price by the single coin in the auction. The coin went for about $7.5 Million back in 2002.

Perhaps that is why the OP posed the question.
