New Member From Long Island

Hi All,
Just started delving into the world of stamps....was a history major years ago in college and liked European history and Belgian history. So that's what I'm interested in - and the Beer. And the chocolate. And the EU - but I won't get political

Come to think of it; those might be some good ideas for topical collections! From what I've read of Stamp Community it seems like a great place to spend time learning about stamps with a nice bunch of folks. Looking forward to staying for a long time!

Suggest you check out the American Topical Association. Publishes a bimonthly newsletter. Offers topic-specific collecting lists.

ATA is an affiliate of the American Philatelic Society. And typically hosts a gathering as part of one of the larger stamp shows.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ
