So I've been trying to figure this one out
It's a double line watermark on a #281 best I guess

Still don't get it :(
To me it's a U turned to the right and bottom of a S
Didn't see how that fit in the 8 orientations
So I'll ask for help seeing my eyes are letting me down

No need to guess, it is a 281. It has a double line watermark as is shown by the portion of a letter of the double line watermark design.

Beyond that, you have entered the eye trickery zone of used stamps and watermarks. Enjoy your visit.
