I have a US collection stored in albums and stockbooks, and an international collection stored in VARIO pages in 3 ring binders. I've probably only got a handful or stamps worth more than 5 dollars and certainly nothing more valuable than 15 dollars. Yesterday I found out I won a drawing during Virtual Stampex for 250 British pounds worth of British Commonwealth stamps. Needless to say, I'm going to be adding a high value block and a high value stamp to my collection. For their own good and to preserve the value of the stamps, I feel like both of these acquisitions will require more sturdy storage, but I'd still like to display then within my international binders. Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can put these stamps in my international binders, but not risk harming them?

Thanks for your time,
KCMO

Just place them in mounts. Bill Gross had his US collection mounted in a Scott National. Nothing spectacular. It gets the job done.

Hello KCMO since you have only two posts and judging from the description of your collection, I am not sure if you know the name Bill H Gross as referenced by rodgcam above.

He had these items below as well as some better stuff too. You can wiki him to learn more and yes, he is that Bill H. Gross.

My better stamps are treated in the same way as the others - hinged or in mounts as appropriate. As with any stamps, the environmental conditions are just as important eg avoiding cold and damp here, or hot and damp in the US.

Congratulations on your win.

I would wait splashing out on special material until receiving the stamps. Sometimes, these draws mean "SG Catalogue value" if they would be of the quality sold by SG. If they are not in that perfect condition, those stamps may be worth about a pound each. Hopefully, your stamps are of good quality.

It's the sign of a thoughtful collector to be concerned about proper storage & longevity for your stamps, so that's great. As others have noted, storing them in a nice album in mounts will be perfectly fine. And ensuring the albums are stored in good environmental conditions.

I would add them to your Vario pages and enjoy looking at them often.
