USA Battleship Revenue Stamps

Trying to find out how many of the Battleship revenues were in each printed sheet? Any specialists out there able to help?

When you write "printed sheet" do you mean the paper size in the printing press or the size (pane) they were cut to for distribution?

An article in the October 1962 United States Specialist shows the three different plate layouts. You will need to be a member of the USSS to access the article.

Typesetter, you are correct.

Per Durland, a USSS publication, there were three plate layouts, the first, 200 subject, 10H x 20V plate number at bottom; second 216, 12H x 18V; third, back to 200 but plate number and inscription centered and at top and side.

Plus this note, bottom plate numbers appear to occur only on plate numbers before 8300 on 200 and 216 subject plates but a plate #8353 is reported found at a plate bottom.

The blocks of 100 in my post above are, third plate type mint, first plate type used and so noted now in the post.

The question remains if the sheets of 200 or 216 were divided into two panes for distribution. If so, the blocks of 100 above are in fact full panes of the 200 subject sheets.

No, the sheets were not divided. A block of 100 is simply that.

I'm sure you're getting tired of me harping on the BEP certified proof sheets, but they offer a good visual answer to the question. At least in the case of the proprietaries, they were printed in full uncut sheets of both 200 and 216, as Parcelpostguy stated above:
