my question is for a reference but has any of the collectors ever seen a 1908 franklin 1 cent coil stamp up close they are the same image as their predecessor but their apperance is that of a different stamp. The depth and the detail of the image. To me I can see a three dementional image were as the flat plate varieties are darker and the depth and richness of the engraving for lack of a better word does not transfer as it did on the coil waste varieties.
does anybody know what im talking about or am I tripping

Well, to be fair, you sound like you're literally tripping.

In seriousness, post some pictures so you can better describe what you mean.
