Today accidentally I happen to see this thread, which unfortunately is now locked.

In the address, there is " Hide Aruthdar"
anybody have an idea on any significance?
Thanks.

The address shows Anglicized version of the Farsi word
Aratdar which means stockpiler and/or warehouse owner.
Arat means storage or warehouse, mostly used for agricultural products and fishes and
Dar means possessor.
Hide Aratdar is a person who keeps huge stock of raw leather.
Secondly, the word
Kothi in this context actually means warehouse.
The address is
Kolutola which is a business district in central Kolkata.
The name Kolutola is a combination of two Bangla words,
Kolu which means oil-presser and
Tola meaning locality/area.
Incidentally, Kolutola is close to the area called
Tangra which was/is the hub of tanneries.
Another point is that the sender of both covers is from Kanpur which is called the "Leather Capital of India".
Also, leather processing industry in India was/is the monopoly of the Muslims and both the sender and the recipient of these two covers, were evidently involved in leather business.
