This is the right spot! And I think LittleriverPhil might have some insight on this card.

I can't offer much more than Pat already has. BTW, Welcome back!
Maple Creek had two active periods; 25 Oct 1886 to 18 Nov 1908, was closed for almost two years and re-opened 2 Aug 1910, closed finally 21 Dec 1923.
John H. Williams recorded three postmarks used at Maple Creek, Cal. in his massive two volume California Town Postmarks 1849-1935, all three spell Maple Creek as two words. Yours and mine are MAPLECREEK used sometime between Feb 24 1900 and Apr 8 1911. My cover is apparently the EKU while your post card is the LKU. The Postmaster's compensation for 1907 was $94.00.

I believe the timing is incorrect. I read the Oakland receiving postmark as Oct. 1907 instead of 1908?

Phil - Thanks for the info.

Peter - You are correct 1907. It did not take a year to get there!

That would make an interesting subject: "How long did your letter take to arrive?"

Correction of typo in Williams' book:

From Postal Bulletin #13338 of December 8, 1923, the closing date for Maple Creek is Dec 31, 1923.
