I couldn't find information on how to disable the bomb-in-flames icon that appears to the left of "hot topics" in the forms.

Is there a way to disable these? They (and any moving smilies/emoticons) really bother my eyes.

Many thanks --
Beth

Just scroll to the bottom and view only the top 100. That's what I do.

If you are comfortable with making changes to the 'hosts' file on your computer (it is a text file); you can add this line to your hosts file and it will prevent the flaming bomb from displaying

Beth, if you can't or don't feel savvy to do what Don about recommends, would just hiding them from your eyes be useful? That can be done rather easily.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. I may try sticking a scrap of paper up against the left-hand margin.

I use electrical tape on that blinking light on the VCR after power outages. Never an issue. I think your idea makes sense. Good luck.
