Hello, can someone tell me if this seal has any value, I looked at it with my microscope and can only read British and legal, any info will be great, thank you.
Hello everybody, thank you very much for the info on that seal that I have, is just the only one I have and I was curious to know more about it, that seal came in an big collection that I've purchased and I just kept it because it looked interesting, thank you again.
This is the Dominican Republic, which has been independent since 1844. Great Britain has had little to do with this country, but did conduct a brief blockade of the port of Santo Domingo in 1809.
Wax seals are attractive items, and some can be quite ornate and elaborate. They're very common in general and can be found on envelopes from the UK by the dozen.
There appears to be little demand though. They are fragile items!
