New To Stamp Collecting

Hello to everyone. My name is Joanne and Im a newcomer to the world of stamp collecting. I have an affinity for Pre-1945 stamps because of their historical significance. I also collect US stamps.

Think about collecting stamps on cover from the past - postal history.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ

Nice to Know Sarasota will have a stamp show next year. I've got it on my schedule now.

The Sarasota show is one of the two best held in Florida. The other, and much larger show, is FLOREX which is held in Kissimmee in December.

I also collect older, ideally postally used, I stop at 1955 ... if you collect worldwide, you might want to look at the International Society of Stamp Collectors (ISWSC), http://www.iswsc.org/. They have superb trading groups for duplicates, some one for one and one which is catalog value-based.

@APS-ISWSC MEMBER, I checked out your link and I think it would be beneficial to becoming a member. I have to get some extra do-re-mi before I pull the trigger.
