Hi everybody! In the following belgian stamps (king Baudouin with glasses-type Marchand) I see not only a different shade of pink but also the paper colour. I could not see that paper colour difference in catalogues. Any comment? Thank you.

The paper color could be caused either by natural characteristics of the paper or by some fugitive ink getting into the paper during soaking. This series had a very long life with many printings and discernable shades. I have accumulated many examples from this series and hope to someday catalogue the shades.

Thank you shermae for your comments. So, you do not consider the paper coloured stamp as a variant, isn't it?

And thank you rod222 for your image, I see there no stamp with the paper coloured like mine, so I have to admit this one may be a result of certain bad ageing.

The paper that is colored could be the result of poor plate wiping
